Lord Balarama is Krishna’s elder brother and His appearance day takes place on the full moon day (purnima), approximately two weeks before Krishna Janmashtami. On the day of Balarama Purnima, devotees fast till noon. Balarama Purnima also marks the end of Jhulan Yatra and the start of the second month of Chaturmasya. This year, we celebrate Balarama’s Appearance Day on Sunday, August 22nd 2021. 6pm onwards.
