History of ISKCON Baltimore

Abode of Nitai-Gaura Sundar, Sri Radha Madhav and Jagannath, Baldev, and Subhadra

This photo was taken when Srila Prabhupada arrived at New Kulina Gram (ISKCON Baltimore) after being inspired by a beautiful picture of Sri Sri Nitai Gaurasundara during his stay at the ISKCON Potomac temple. Srila Prabhupada visited ISKCON Baltimore only once, on July 7, 1976, and he instantly transformed the former old age home into a holy pilgrimage site for all Vaishnava devotees of Lord Sri Krishna.

The property located at 200 Bloomsbury Avenue in Catonsville, Maryland, is one of the original 108 temples established by His Divine Grace. It is among the few remaining original ISKCON temple properties that continue to carry on the missionary work of Srila Prabhupada. This is noteworthy, as many of the original ISKCON properties are no longer in use, for various reasons related to changes in venues.
